“Sanctify yourselves and be kadosh (Holy), for I am HaShem, your Elohim.” Vayikra (Leviticus) 20:7
Well, here we are…we made it to another Shabbat, Baruch HaShem! The news just seems to get better and better (Sarcasm!). Economic hardships, grocery shortages, lock-downs, shelter in place orders combined with the daily tally of all those new cases of infected and deaths. Truly we are living in unprecedented times!
As a result of these unprecedented events, I am reading many articles from various websites from people rejoicing because in their opinion these events are showing that the False Messiah is soon to appear and Israel will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem while the bulk of Christendom is ‘zapped out of their shoes to walk the streets of gold and live in the mansions of Heaven’ (Actual quote by someone); while Israel on earth will endure the wrath of HaShem and endure yet another holocaust because of their continued embracing of ‘The Law’ and rejection of Jesus as being HaShem in the flesh…(Honestly makes me see purple when I hear this anti-Semitic garbage). I apologize, not looking to come out right away in this Op slamming anyone. Moving on.
It is interesting people are discussing this topic in light of the new biblical month we just entered i.e. Nissan, coupled with the new book of the Torah we are beginning in our annual Torah portions i.e. Vayikra (Leviticus) and I will explain. But first as always, remember the following as they are key to hold onto when reading His Word:
– HaShem never changes per Num 23:19/Mal 3:6/Hebrews 13:8/James 1:17
– His Word is firmly established per Psalm 119:89
– He reveals the end out of the beginning per Is 46:10
– He does nothing without first revealing it to His prophets per Amos 3:7
– He says there is nothing new under the sun per Ecclesiastes 1:9
– He says His Torah is eternal per Proverbs 3:19 and Psalm 119:160
– He says His Torah is perfect and restores the soul per Psalm 19:7
– He says His Torah makes the simple one wise per Psalm 19:7
– He says His Torah Is freedom and liberty per Psalm Ps 119:45 and James 1:25
– He says His Torah is the only good doctrine there is Proverbs 4:2
– He says His Torah will add length of days and years of life and peace per Proverbs 3:2
– He says all of the ways of His Torah are ways of pleasantness and peace per Proverbs 3:17
– He says His Torah is for our good and well-being per Deuteronomy 6:24
– He says His Torah is health for our lives per Proverbs 3:8
– He says His Torah is life to our soul and a graceful ornament for our neck per Prov 3:22
– He says His Torah is better than pearls and all desires cannot compare to it per Prov 8:11
– He says those who walk with His Torah are praiseworthy per Psalms 119:1
– He says observing His Torah is how we purify our path per Psalms 119:9
– He says His Torah is better than thousands in gold and silver per Psalms 119:72
– He says His Torah brings abundant peace to those who love Him and His Torah per Psalms 119:165
– He says there is one Torah for all per Exodus 12:49/Leviticus 24:22
– He says those who hate His Torah love death per Proverbs 8:36
Now you all may be wondering why I keep posting pictures of nature lately in my Ops? In my opinion they are a great reminder of Whom we serve, especially in light of all that is going on around us!! This is the same Elohim Who fashioned all of His Creation and placed each and every galaxy, star, planet, moon, tree, rock, speck of dust, including you and I and yes even microbial cells all in their respective places in order to function and serve HaShem! It helps, again in my opinion, in not being overwhelmed by the fear, panic and stress of the times if we can always keep HaShem in focus and His absolute ability to keep, guard, provide and shelter His people as long as we stay close to Him! Just look at the picture above of that galaxy and see all the stars, the gas clouds, etc and understand HaShem not only placed every object there, but it says in His Word He names each and every one! Not only that, but each star in this picture serves a specific function and purpose in His Creation!! Nothing is just because! Keep this all in mind as we proceed.
In the last Op I discussed the significance of the biblical month of Nissan and covered a little of the meaning of this month and its ties to the redemption of Israel. I want to continue to examine this a bit more and tie it in to the title of this Op, so please bear with me.
The following excerpt is from the book ‘The Book of Our Heritage the Jewish Year and its Days of Significance’ by Rabbi Eliyahu Kitov, published by Feldheim Publisher, on page 473 discussing the sign for the month of Nissan which is the lamb “Which serves to remind us the lamb which each household would bring for the Pesach (Passover) sacrifice. However, even before Israel was commanded to take a lamb for the sacrifice in Nisan, the nations of the world, and especially the Egyptians, used the lamb as the symbol for this month. The Hebrew word ‘Ashtarot’ connoting the offspring of sheep and the increase of the flock, resembles the word for ‘Wealth’ i.e. ‘Osher’, for the former brings its owner great wealth. The month of Nisan, the beginning of spring, symbolizes the wealth and bounty of the entire year; hence, the appropriate sign associated with Nisan is Aries the ram.”
“The Egyptians, whose chief concerns were developing wealth and strength, transformed the ram into a god which they worshiped. But Israel, whose chief concern is serving HaShem, was commanded to take this god of the Egyptians and slaughter it and offer it in the very month when it was in its ascendancy. This was a declaration of Israel’s recognition that there is no wealth or strength except that which stems from HaShem. The astrological sign of this month, for both the Egyptians and Israel, is the ram. For Israel it is a sign of subservience to HaShem, whereas for Egypt it is an idol.”
What I find interesting is the connection with the Egyptian/Canaanite/Mesopotamiam god ‘Ashteroth’ which has other names such as ‘Ishtar’ which on a side note is where the name ‘Easter’ comes from. The point is the connection to the pursuit of wealth and strength and trusting in a false deity to acquire this wealth and power. Is it then a coincidence all these economic problems are consuming the United States and the world during this time of the year i.e. the month of Nissan? If the national pursuit of the United States is wealth and strength, the hallmarks of worshiping Ashteroth, is it then just a coincidence HaShem is either allowing or sending these problems which is having a devastating effect on our national and personal wealth and strength? In other words, is HaShem perhaps using this outbreak to remind people as to where wealth and strength ultimately and truly come from in the first place? Something to ponder at least. I digress.
With all this said, I was recently asked the question ‘What is the purpose of the Temple of HaShem?’ Its a good question! Does HaShem really require the blood of goats, sheep, lambs, pigeons, etc to assuage His anger? The answer is emphatically NO! He doesn’t! Only the pagan gods and their temples require blood to assuage their anger which is why I cringe when I hear those on TV talking about being ‘Washed in the blood of Jesus’. Only the pagan gods required their followers to, and here is the key word ‘immerse’ or ‘wash’ themselves in the blood of animals and sometimes other people, HaShem absolutely does NOT command any of that. Nowhere in His Word will you find where people went to the Temple of HaShem to immerse or wash themselves in blood. So why then does HaShem command a Temple be built? The answer lies in His Word which we will further explore here shortly, and I think you will be amazed!
As we have studied in past Op’s we know HaShem is kadosh (Holy) and He commands each of us as being grafted into Israel, to be kadosh as He is kadosh per Vayikra 19:2/20:7/20:26/21:8 and 1 Kepha (Peter) 1:16. What does that term ‘Kadosh’ look like and how do we apply that concept to our lives as His people? The answer lies within the function and purpose of His Temple in Jerusalem!
When HaShem directed Moshe to build Him a Mishkan (Tabernacle) per Shemot (Exodus) 25:8 so He may dwell among His people, He established His Kohanim (Priests) who would officiate the Temple avodot (Services) and lead the people in worshiping HaShem! The main reason He established His Kohanim is stated in Vayikra 10:9-11 which says “HaShem spoke to Aaron saying: ‘Do not drink intoxicating wine, you and your sons with you, when you come to the Tent of Meeting, that you not die, this is an eternal decree for your generations. In order to DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THE SACRED AND THE PROFANE, AND BETWEEN CONTAMINATED AND THE PURE, AND TO TEACH THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL ALL THE DECREES THAT HASHEM HAD SPOKEN TO THEM THROUGH MOSHE.'” So the purpose of the Temple is to teach Israel (You and I) to know the differences between the sacred and the profane, and between what is contaminated and pure.
Consider there are a total of 613 Mitvot (Commandments) which comprise the Torah, out of those 613, 271 of them pertain directly to the Temple of HaShem! The Temple is the fullest expression of the Torah of HaShem in action and teaches us the protocols of the Great King! Does it make more sense now as to why HaShem command in Yechezkel (Ezekiel) 43:10-11 as well as Revelation 11:1 for each of us, you and I, to study and learn EVERY single aspect of His Temple to include gates, layout, the avodot (Services), etc? When we do, and I can personally attest to this from experience, you become much, much more aware of kedushah (Holiness) and what it looks like and as such it motivates me to make changes in my life as to what I watch, listen too, certainly not to eat anything unclean such as pork, shellfish, etc!
On a side note, I have had countless people confront me concerning the whole notion of not eating pork and other unclean animals and I asked them the following two questions: “If HaShem doesn’t care about what we eat, then why did He toss Adam and Eve out of the Garden when they ate what He said was not good for food? Or why does He state in Isaiah 66:17 that in the End of Days He will destroy all those who eat pork and other unclean animals?” Usually there is no reply other than “Jesus did away with it all so none of that applies. It only applies to the Jews who refuse to give up the Law and reject Jesus.” No need to get into a debate over it, just do as Yeshua said, ‘Shake the dust off your feet and walk away.’ I digress.
It brings into proper context what Paul said in I Corinthians 3:16 when he stated ‘We are the Temple…’ Unfortunately Christendom has taken this verse light years out of context and fashioned a whole other level of Replacement Theology garbage doctrine. This concept of us being the Temple is not something brand new that Paul was stating. It was and still is today a very well known Jewish understanding that doesn’t mean we literally replace the need for a Temple as Replacement Theology garbage doctrine teaches, but that we are to look to the Temple as being a teaching tool and apply what HaShem has given to us into our lives and live them out in service to Him…in other words, pattern our lives after the functions of the Temple!
But Replacement Theology teaches the Temple is now tossed aside, along with the Torah, the Feasts of HaShem which have somehow now been changed to Christmas/Easter, Shabbat can be either Sunday or any other day of the week we choose, just not Saturday’s and there are no longer any restrictions to eating…just go eat whatever sounds good. So then can we learn what it means to be kadosh (Holy) from Replacement Theology? Not a chance! Consider the following verses from Yechezkel (Ezekiel) and see what I mean!
In the End of Days, when HaShem establishes the Third Temple in Jerusalem, and on a side note, NO, the Third Temple is NOT solely for the False Messiah…another garbage doctrine of Replacement Theology! HaShem will restore the Kohanim and why? He says in Yechezkel 44:23 “They shall instruct My people concerning the difference between holy and ordinary, and they shall inform them of the difference between contaminated and clean.” Interesting! So again we see HaShem has, contrary to Replacement Theology, NOT tossed His Torah, His Temple, His Feasts, His Shabbat or His Commandments concerning clean and unclean aside after all!! He truly is unchanging!
Now in contrast, consider what He says in Yechezkel 22:23-28 says “The Word of HaShem came to me saying, ‘Son of Man, say to her: You are a land that has not been cleansed, that has not been rained upon on the day of fury. There is a conspiracy of her (Notice He says ‘Her’ and not ‘My’) prophets in her midst, like a roaring lion that tears its prey; they have devoured souls, they have taken away Jerusalem’s treasure and worth, they have increased her widows in her midst. Her (Again notice He says ‘Her’ and not ‘My’) priests ROBBED MY TORAH AND DESECRATED MY SANCTITIES; THEY DID NOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN HOLY AND PROFANE, AND THEY DID NOT MAKE KNOWN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONTAMINATED AND PURIFIED; THEY HID THEIR EYES FROM MY SHABBATS, AND I BECAME PROFANED AMONG THEM. Her officers within her are like wolves who tear prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, for the sake of UNJUST GAIN. And her prophets smeared plaster for them, for they see WORTHLESS VISIONS AND THEY DIVINE FALSEHOOD FOR THEM. They say, ‘Thus said the Master HaShem/Elohim,’ when HaShem did NOT speak.” WOW!! Does this not apply perfectly to Replacement Theology Christendom today? Robbing people of HaShem’s Torah, desecrating His Feasts, His Shabbat, refusing to teach the differences between contaminated and purified. Consumed with obtaining more wealth and fame i.e. ‘Send in your money and get your blessing’ nonsense. Telling their congregations about fake visions and giving so called words from HaShem, when HaShem never once gave them! What does this tell us? Those who teach Replacement Theology have an enormous accountability before HaShem and they WILL answer for their teaching lies when His wrath is poured out upon them for destroying so many people and leading so many to their ruin.
Why does Yeshua talk about in the End Him telling people ‘Depart from Me, for I never knew you, you workers of Lawlessness (Without the Torah)?’ In my opinion, Replacement Theology is the answer to that question!
This is precisely why I abhor and detest Replacement Theology so much! It is stealing and robbing so many blessings from HaShem from these people and leading so many to absolute destruction because there is no true foundation to rest upon, especially during these very difficult times we are living in. But HaShem does say in Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) 16:19-21 says: “HaShem, my Strength, my Stronghold, and my Refuge on the day of distress! To You nations (Gentiles) will come from the ends of the earth and say ‘It was all falsehood that our ancestors inherited, futility that has no purpose. Can a man make gods for himself? They are NOT gods! Therefore, behold, I inform them at this time, I shall let them know of My hand and My strength; and they shall know that My Name is HaShem!”
Or how about this verse concerning the End of Days: Zechariah 8:23 says “Thus said HaShem, Master of Legions: In those days (The End of Days) it WILL happen that ten gentiles, of all the different languages of the nations, will take hold, they will take hold of the corner of the tallit of a Jewish man, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that Elohim is with you!'”
The point for my referencing these verses is that in the End of Days people will and they are today waking up, hearing the call of HaShem and realizing everything they have been taught in the systems of religion to include Christendom, is utterly worthless, futile doctrine that has done nothing for them, except lie to them year after year! This is exactly what happened to me! HaShem woke me up to the futility of Christendom and He in His great and abundant mercy and compassion delivered me out of the clutches of that system of lies. And I say Baruch HaShem He is doing so more and more each and every day!
So you may be wondering why I seem to be clobbering Christendom so much in this Op? Unfortunately it is necessary when trying to convey the importance of the Temple of HaShem and how much we learn and in doing so we learn what the purpose of the Temple is, but ultimately what our purpose is in this life!
I will close with this thought: The next time you ask yourself or someone asks you what the purpose is, tell them what HaShem said in Ecclesiastes 12:13 “The sum of the matter, when all has been considered: Fear HaShem and keep His commandments, for that is man’s whole duty.”
Stay tuned for future Op’s where I will be focusing on the attributes and descriptions of the Temple of HaShem and how it functions and hope you all will be able to see just how amazing and astounding it is and see all that HaShem is teaching us through His Temple! If we want to truly know HaShem and know His Messiah, the real Messiah, only the Temple and His Torah reveal Who He is!
Much to consider.
